On July 24, 2021, I spent half a day near O’Hare Airport with a plane-spotting enthusiast who aspires to be an aerospace engineer. We saw a plane landing every half a minute across at least three runways. Eugene made all pictures on Fujifilm X-E3 camera w/ Fujifilm XF 55-200mm f/3.5~4.8 R LM OIS lens.
Our 2000 Honda Accord EX served us well for over 20 years, registering 178,605 total miles. It was time for it to retire from service and to provide a source of revenue to a local charity.

Today’s Independence Day holiday is an unusual one. In the past, we had participated in local community parades, visited places, and/or watched the holiday fireworks. Due to COVID-19, we celebrate the 244th year of America’s founding at home.
Visiting New York in 2014, we got to see the Statue of Liberty. Other than the US flag, no other imagery comes close to symbolize the nation and what it stands for.
Due to lack of planning, we did not get to go up the national monument. Nevertheless, it was a sight to behold as the ferry approached Liberty Island.

Birds are everywhere. Yet I’ve not taken time to observe them – till now that is. They wake me up in the morning whenever I’m camping outdoors. Most of them are small, camouflaged, and quick. Within the last week, I’ve paid more attention to the birds in my backyard – see the last three pictures below.

As part of a team event during the stay-at-home period, I scanned this family portrait that was made 46 years ago when my father received his masters degree.
Family portrait from 1974
Another photograph I scanned was this 5×7 picture. I made this picture from start to finish. Using the school darkroom, I developed the film and printed this picture 34 years ago.
The next photo was taken 20 years ago when 53% of my paternal extended family had the opportunity to come together from at least three states for a family gathering.

During the great Coranavirus stay-at-home of 2020 that started March 21, schools closed their doors and required students to complete the school year through distance learning.
